The Holy Quran 3:30 — Surah Ali 'Imran

Arabic text

يَوْمَ تَجِدُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا عَمِلَتْ مِنْ خَيْرٍ مُّحْضَرًا وَمَا عَمِلَتْ مِن سُوٓءٍ تَوَدُّ لَوْ أَنَّ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَهُۥٓ أَمَدًۢا بَعِيدًا ۗ وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسَهُۥ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ رَءُوفٌۢ بِٱلْعِبَادِ

Translation

On the day (of Qiyaamah) every soul shall find all the good which it had done present before it (when every person's book of deeds will be presented to him/her). (On that day) It will wish that there is a great distance between it and the evil which it perpetrated. Allaah warns you (to beware) of Himself (His punishment). Allaah is Compassionate towards His bondsmen (and has therefore warned them about these events).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وفي يوم القيامة يوم الجزاء تجد كل نفس ما عملت من خير ينتظرها موفرًا لتُجزَى به، وما عملت من عمل سيِّئ تجده في انتظارها أيضًا، فتتمنى لو أن بينها وبين هذا العمل زمنًا بعيدًا. فاستعدوا لهذا اليوم، وخافوا بطش الإله الجبار. ومع شدَّة عقابه فإنه سبحانه المتصف بكمال الرحمة بالعباد.
