The Holy Quran 3:199 — Surah Ali 'Imran

Arabic text

وَإِنَّ مِنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ لَمَن يُؤْمِنُ بِٱللَّهِ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ خَـٰشِعِينَ لِلَّهِ لَا يَشْتَرُونَ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا ۗ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ

Translation

Without doubt there are those from the Ahlul Kitaab who believe in Allaah, in what has been revealed to you (Muslims) and what has been revealed to them (the Torah and Injeel). They humble themselves before Allaah (accept Islaam and fulfil all its requisites) and do not purchase a small gain (the wealth of this world) at the price of Allaah's verses (they do not hide the laws of their scriptures to maintain their leadership). The reward of these people (which is doubled) is with their Rabb. Verily Allaah is swift at reckoning (the day is near and accountability will be swift).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وإن بعضًا من أهل الكتاب لَيصدِّق بالله ربًّا واحدًا وإلهًا معبودًا، وبما أُنزِل إليكم من هذا القرآن، وبما أُنزِل إليهم من التوراة والإنجيل متذللين لله، خاضعين له، لا يشترون بآيات الله ثمنًا قليلا من حطام الدنيا، ولا يكتمون ما أنزل الله، ولا يحرفونه كغيرهم من أهل الكتاب. أولئك لهم ثواب عظيم عنده يوم يلقونه، فيوفيهم إياه غير منقوص.
