The Holy Quran 3:181 — Surah Ali 'Imran

Arabic text

لَّقَدْ سَمِعَ ٱللَّهُ قَوْلَ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ فَقِيرٌ وَنَحْنُ أَغْنِيَآءُ ۘ سَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَالُوا۟ وَقَتْلَهُمُ ٱلْأَنۢبِيَآءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَنَقُولُ ذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابَ ٱلْحَرِيقِ

Translation

Allaah had undoubtedly heard the statement of those (Jews) who said (out of spiritual blindness and depravity), "Surely Allaah is poor and we are rich!" We shall soon record (in their record of actions) what they say and (also record) their unjust killing of the Ambiyaa. We will tell them (when they are suffering their punishment in the Aakhirah), "Taste the punishment of the Blaze (Burn as you had burnt the hearts of Allaah's friends with your taunts and mockery)!"

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

لقد سمع الله قول اليهود الذين قالوا: إن الله فقير إلينا يطلب منا أن نقرضه أموالا ونحن أغنياء. سنكتب هذا القول الذي قالوه، وسنكتب أنهم راضون بما كان مِن قَتْل آبائهم لأنبياء الله ظلمًا وعدوانًا، وسوف نؤاخذهم بذلك في الآخرة، ونقول لهم وهم في النار يعذبون: ذوقوا عذاب النار المحرقة.
