The Holy Quran 3:17 — Surah Ali 'Imran

Arabic text

ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ وَٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ وَٱلْقَـٰنِتِينَ وَٱلْمُنفِقِينَ وَٱلْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ بِٱلْأَسْحَارِ

Translation

(The people of Taqwa are) Those who exercise sabr, the truthful (in speech, at heart and in Imaan), the obedient, the charitable and those who beg forgiveness in the early hours of the morning (the period before dawn, which is a time of tranquillity when a Mu'min's du'aa is accepted).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

هم الذين اتصفوا بالصبر على الطاعات، وعن المعاصي، وعلى ما يصيبهم من أقدار الله المؤلمة، وبالصدق في الأقوال والأفعال وبالطاعة التامة، وبالإنفاق سرا وعلانية، وبالاستغفار في آخر الليل; لأنه مَظِنَّة القبول وإجابة الدعاء.
