The Holy Quran 3:137 — Surah Ali 'Imran

Arabic text

قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ سُنَنٌ فَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

Translation

(The stories of) Many practices (by which Allaah had dealt with people) have passed before you so travel in the earth and see what was the end of those who rejected (Imaan). (Muslims should therefore not be despondent and depressed about the hardship that the Kuffaar give them because Allaah's assistance will soon come their way as happened in the past when the Kuffaar were destroyed by Allaah's punishment. Allaah always allows the truth to prevail.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

يخاطب الله المؤمنين لمَّا أُصيبوا يوم «أُحد» تعزية لهم بأنه قد مضت من قبلكم أمم، ابتُلي المؤمنون منهم بقتال الكافرين فكانت العاقبة لهم، فسيروا في الأرض معتبرين بما آل إليه أمر أولئك المكذبين بالله ورسله.
