The Holy Quran 38:17 — Surah Sad

Arabic text

ٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَٱذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا دَاوُۥدَ ذَا ٱلْأَيْدِ ۖ إِنَّهُۥٓ أَوَّابٌ

Translation

Be patient with all they say and remember Our slave Dawood عليه الصلاة والسلام, the strong (willed). He was certainly penitent (constantly turning to Allaah).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

اصبر -أيها الرسول- على ما يقولونه مما تكره، واذكر عبدنا داود صاحب القوة على أعداء الله والصبر على طاعته، إنه توَّاب كثير الرجوع إلى ما يرضي الله. وفي هذا تسلية للرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم.
