The Holy Quran 37:8 — Surah As-Saffat

Arabic text

لَّا يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْمَلَإِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ وَيُقْذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبٍ

Translation

They (the Shayaateen) cannot eavesdrop on (listen secretly to) those (angels) of the upper heights (who discuss matters of the future) and (when they try to eavesdrop, they) are pelted (with the stars) from every direction.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

لا تستطيع الشياطين أن تصل إلى الملأ الأعلى، وهي السموات ومَن فيها مِن الملائكة، فتستمع إليهم إذا تكلموا بما يوحيه الله تعالى مِن شرعه وقدره، ويُرْجَمون بالشهب من كل جهة; طردًا لهم عن الاستماع، ولهم في الدار الآخرة عذاب دائم موجع.
