The Holy Quran 37:63 — Surah As-Saffat

Arabic text

إِنَّا جَعَلْنَـٰهَا فِتْنَةً لِّلظَّـٰلِمِينَ

Translation

We have certainly made it (Zaqqoom) a test (appointed) for the oppressors (the Kuffaar, who mocked Rasulullaah ﷺ by saying that a tree cannot grow in the fire of Jahannam).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

إنا جعلناها فتنة افتتن بها الظالمون لأنفسهم بالكفر والمعاصي، وقالوا مستنكرين: إن صاحبكم ينبئكم أن في النار شجرة، والنار تأكل الشجر.
