لَوْ أَنَّ عِندَنَا ذِكْرًا مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

Translation

"If only we had some advice (a divine scripture) from the people of the past ..."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وإن كفار "مكة" ليقولون قبل بعثتك -أيها الرسول-: لو جاءنا من الكتب والأنبياء ما جاء الأولين قبلنا، لكنا عباد الله الصادقين في الإيمان، المخلَصين في العبادة.
