The Holy Quran 35:41 — Surah Fatir

Arabic text

۞ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُمْسِكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ أَن تَزُولَا ۚ وَلَئِن زَالَتَآ إِنْ أَمْسَكَهُمَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِّنۢ بَعْدِهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ حَلِيمًا غَفُورًا

Translation

Verily Allaah withholds (stabilizes) the heavens and the earth from moving (from shaking and thereby causing difficulty for people). If they were ever to move, there will be none to withhold them after Him (after He allows them to move). Indeed He is Tolerant, Most Forgiving.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

إن الله يمسك السماوات والأرض أن تزولا عن مكانهما، ولئن زالت السماوات والأرض عن مكانهما ما يمسكهما من أحد من بعده. إن الله كان حليمًا في تأخير العقوبة عن الكافرين والعصاة، غفورًا لمن تاب من ذنبه ورجع إليه.
