The Holy Quran 34:34 — Surah Saba

Arabic text

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا فِى قَرْيَةٍ مِّن نَّذِيرٍ إِلَّا قَالَ مُتْرَفُوهَآ إِنَّا بِمَآ أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِۦ كَـٰفِرُونَ

Translation

Whenever We sent a warner (a Nabi) to a town, the affluent people (because of their wealth, power and fame) said, "We disbelieve in what has been sent with you."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وما أرسلنا في قرية من رسول يدعو الى توحيد الله وإفراده بالعبادة، إلا قال المنغمسون في اللذات والشهوات من أهلها: إنَّا بالذي جئتم به -أيها الرسل- جاحدون.
