The Holy Quran 34:13 — Surah Saba

Arabic text

يَعْمَلُونَ لَهُۥ مَا يَشَآءُ مِن مَّحَـٰرِيبَ وَتَمَـٰثِيلَ وَجِفَانٍ كَٱلْجَوَابِ وَقُدُورٍ رَّاسِيَـٰتٍ ۚ ٱعْمَلُوٓا۟ ءَالَ دَاوُۥدَ شُكْرًا ۚ وَقَلِيلٌ مِّنْ عِبَادِىَ ٱلشَّكُورُ

Translation

As he (Sulaymaan عليه الصلاة والسلام) pleased, they (the Jinn) would construct for him huge buildings, sculptures, dishes (basins) the size of dams and large pots which (were so heavy that they) could not be moved from their place. (Allaah addressed the family of Dawood عليه الصلاة والسلام saying,) "O family of Dawood! Express your thanks (to Me for the favours I have given you). (Unfortunately,) Few of My bondsmen are thankful."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

يعمل الجن لسليمان ما يشاء من مساجد للعبادة، وصور من نحاس وزجاج، وقِصَاع كبيرة كالأحواض التي يجتمع فيها الماء، وقدور ثابتات لا تتحرك من أماكنها لعظمهن، وقلنا يا آل داود: اعملوا شكرًا لله على ما أعطاكم، وذلك بطاعته وامتثال أمره، وقليل من عبادي من يشكر الله كثيرًا، وكان داود وآله من القليل.
