The Holy Quran 33:9 — Surah Al-Ahzab

Arabic text

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱذْكُرُوا۟ نِعْمَةَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ جَآءَتْكُمْ جُنُودٌ فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا وَجُنُودًا لَّمْ تَرَوْهَا ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرًا

Translation

O you who have Imaan! Remember Allaah's favour (to you) when (during the Battle of Ahzaab) the (combined Jewish and Mushrikeen) armies approached you (in Madinah), against which We sent (in your defence) a (fierce) wind (that unsettled their camp) and troops (of angels) that you could not see (thus causing fear in the hearts of the enemy). Allaah is Watchful over what you do.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

يا معشر المؤمنين اذكروا نعمة الله تعالى التي أنعمها عليكم في «المدينة» أيام غزوة الأحزاب -وهي غزوة الخندق-، حين اجتمع عليكم المشركون من خارج «المدينة» ، واليهود والمنافقون من «المدينة» وما حولها، فأحاطوا بكم، فأرسلنا على الأحزاب ريحًا شديدة اقتلعت خيامهم ورمت قدورهم، وأرسلنا ملائكة من السماء لم تروها، فوقع الرعب في قلوبهم.
