The Holy Quran 33:8 — Surah Al-Ahzab

Arabic text

لِّيَسْـَٔلَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ عَن صِدْقِهِمْ ۚ وَأَعَدَّ لِلْكَـٰفِرِينَ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا

Translation

...So that (on the Day of Qiyaamah) He may ask the truthful ones the Ambiyaa عليهم الصلاة والسلام about their truthfulness (about whether they fulfilled their pledges. Their confirmation that they did fulfil the pledge will be evidence against the Kuffaar). Allaah has prepared a painful doom for the Kaafiroon.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

أخذ الله ذلك العهد من أولئك الرسل؛ ليسأل المرسلين عمَّا أجابتهم به أممهم، فيجزي الله المؤمنين الجنة، وأعد للكافرين يوم القيامة عذابًا شديدًا في جهنم.
