The Holy Quran 32:14 — Surah As-Sajdah

Arabic text

فَذُوقُوا۟ بِمَا نَسِيتُمْ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَـٰذَآ إِنَّا نَسِينَـٰكُمْ ۖ وَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابَ ٱلْخُلْدِ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

Translation

(After the plea of the Kuffaar to return to the world is rejected, they will be subjected to punishment and told) "So taste (the punishment) because you forgot this day! We have forgotten you as well (just as you chose to forget this day). Taste of the eternal punishment because of the (evil) actions you carried out (and not because of any injustice towards you)!"

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

يقال لهؤلاء المشركين -عند دخولهم النار على سبيل التوبيخ-: فذوقوا العذاب؛ بسبب غفلتكم عن الآخرة وانغماسكم في لذائذ الدنيا، إنا تركناكم اليوم في العذاب، وذوقوا عذاب جهنم الذي لا ينقطع؛ بما كنتم تعملون في الدنيا من الكفر بالله ومعاصيه.
