The Holy Quran 31:29 — Surah Luqman

Arabic text

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُولِجُ ٱلَّيْلَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِى ٱلَّيْلِ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمْسَ وَٱلْقَمَرَ كُلٌّ يَجْرِىٓ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ

Translation

Do you not see that Allaah enters the night into the day, enters the day into the night and has made the sun and the moon (completely) subservient (made them for the benefit of man)? Each one runs (properly) until an appointed term (when it will also come to an end). And (do you not see that) Allaah is Informed of whatever you do (and will reward or punish you for your actions).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ألم تر أن الله يأخذ من ساعات الليل، فيطول النهار، ويقصر الليل، ويأخذ من ساعات النهار، فيطول الليل، ويقصر النهار، وذلَّل لكم الشمس والقمر، يجري كل منهما في مداره إلى أجل معلوم محدد، وأن الله مُطَّلع على كل أعمال الخلق مِن خير أو شر، لا يخفى عليه منها شيء؟
