The Holy Quran 30:38 — Surah Ar-Rum

Arabic text

فَـَٔاتِ ذَا ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ حَقَّهُۥ وَٱلْمِسْكِينَ وَٱبْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ لِّلَّذِينَ يُرِيدُونَ وَجْهَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ وَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْمُفْلِحُونَ

Translation

So give the relative his right (behave kindly with him and assist him wherever possible), as well as the poor and the traveller (all of whom should be assisted in every possible manner). This is best for those who seek Allaah's pleasure (because assisting Allaah's creation pleases Allaah greatly). These (people who fulfil the rights of others) are the successful people.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

فأعط -أيها المؤمن- قريبك حقه من الصلة والصدقة وسائر أعمال البر، وأعط الفقير الذي لا يملك ما يكفيه ويسد حاجته، والمحتاج الذي انقطع به السبيل من الزكاة والصدقة، ذلك الإعطاء خير للذين يريدون بعملهم وجه الله، والذين يعملون هذه الأعمال وغيرها من أعمال الخير، أولئك هم الفائزون بثواب الله الناجون مِن عقابه.
