The Holy Quran 2:79 — Surah Al-Baqarah

Translation

May those people be destroyed who write the Book with their hands (dreaming up the words) and then say, "This is from Allaah,” so that they may sell it for a worthless price (for a small commercial profit). May they be destroyed because of what their hands write and may they be destroyed because of what (bribes) they earn. (This verse refers to the Jewish scholars who changed the text of the Torah that described Rasulullaah as well as the text that sentenced the married adulterer to death by stoning. Besides this, they changed several other texts as well. They did this for the benefit of the people who bribed them.)

Tafsir (excerpt) —
