The Holy Quran 2:270 — Surah Al-Baqarah
Translation
Whatever charity you spend or oaths you vow, surely Allaah is Aware of them (whether the charity is a little or a lot, whether the intentions are good or evil, whether the act is secret or public). The oppressors (those who are miserly and who spend their wealth against Allaah's orders) shall have no helper (against Allaah's punishment). (One should therefore not take vows in anyone's name besides Allaah's.)
Tafsir (excerpt) —
