The Holy Quran 2:262 — Surah Al-Baqarah

Arabic text

ٱلَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ أَمْوَٰلَهُمْ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ لَا يُتْبِعُونَ مَآ أَنفَقُوا۟ مَنًّا وَلَآ أَذًى ۙ لَّهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

Translation

Those who spend in the path (obedience) of Allaah and then do not follow it up with reminders of their generosity (to make the recipient feel indebted to them) nor with (causing) hurt (to the recipient, such as making others know about it, taunting him or by taking work from him), their reward is (guaranteed and waiting for them) with their Rabb. No fear shall come upon them, nor shall they grieve (in the Aakhirah).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

الذين يخرجون أموالهم في الجهاد وأنواع الخير، ثم لا يتبعون ما أنفقوا من الخيرات مَنّاً على مَن أعطَوه ولا أذى بقول أو فِعْلٍ يشعره بالتفضل عليه، لهم ثوابهم العظيم عند ربهم، ولا خوف عليهم فيما يستقبلونه من أمر الآخرة، ولا هم يحزنون على شيء فاتهم في هذه الدنيا.
