The Holy Quran 2:203 — Surah Al-Baqarah

Arabic text

۞ وَٱذْكُرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فِىٓ أَيَّامٍ مَّعْدُودَٰتٍ ۚ فَمَن تَعَجَّلَ فِى يَوْمَيْنِ فَلَآ إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ وَمَن تَأَخَّرَ فَلَآ إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ ۚ لِمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰ ۗ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟ أَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ

Translation

Carry out the Dhikr (remembrance) of Allaah during the limited days (10th, 11th, 12th and 13th of Dhul Hijjah). There shall be no sin on the person who chooses to hasten (to leave Mina) during the two days (by leaving Mina on the 12th of Dhul Hijjah), nor will there be any sin on him who wishes to delay (by leaving Mina on the 13th of Dhul Hijjah). (Forgiveness shall be) for him who possesses Taqwa (throughout the Hajj journey). Fear Allaah and understand that unto Him (before Him) shall you be gathered (on the Day of Qiyaamah when Allaah will reward and punish people according to their actions).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

واذكروا الله تسبيحًا وتكبيرًا في أيام قلائل، وهي أيام التشريق: الحادي عشر والثاني عشر والثالث عشر من شهر ذي الحجة. فمن أراد التعجل وخرج من «مِنى» قبل غروب شمس اليوم الثاني عشر بعد رمي الجمار فلا ذنب عليه، ومن تأخر بأن بات بـ «مِنى» حتى يرمي الجمار في اليوم الثالث عشر فلا ذنب عليه، لمن اتقى الله في حجه.
