The Holy Quran 2:132 — Surah Al-Baqarah

Arabic text

وَوَصَّىٰ بِهَآ إِبْرَٰهِـۧمُ بَنِيهِ وَيَعْقُوبُ يَـٰبَنِىَّ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱصْطَفَىٰ لَكُمُ ٱلدِّينَ فَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ

Translation

Ibraheem عليه الصلاة والسلام and Ya'qoob عليه الصلاة والسلام advised their sons about it (about following Islaam, the religion of Ibraheem عليه الصلاة والسلام) saying, "Oh my sons! Verily Allaah has chosen this Deen (Islaam) for you, so die only as Muslims." (In this manner, they instructed their sons to remain Muslims until their deaths.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وحثَّ إبراهيمُ ويعقوبُ أبناءهما على الثبات على الإسلام قائلَيْن: يا أبناءنا إن الله اختار لكم هذا الدين -وهو دين الإسلام- فلا تفارقوه أيام حياتكم، ولا يأتكم الموت إلا وأنتم عليه.
