The Holy Quran 2:124 — Surah Al-Baqarah
Translation
(Remember the time) When his Rabb (Allaah) tested Ibraheem عليه الصلاة والسلام with certain words (commands) which he fulfilled. Allaah said, “I am going to make you a leader (an Imaam) of people (to lead them in matters of Deen)." Ibraheem عليه الصلاة والسلام said, "And from my offspring (will You not make them leaders as well)?" Allaah replied, "My promise (of leadership) will not extend to the oppressors (the Kaafiroon)."
Tafsir (excerpt) —
