The Holy Quran 29:4 — Surah Al-'Ankabut

Arabic text

أَمْ حَسِبَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِ أَن يَسْبِقُونَا ۚ سَآءَ مَا يَحْكُمُونَ

Translation

Do those who do evil (who commit kufr and Shirk) think that they can escape Us (escape Our punishment)? Evil (wrong) indeed is the decision (judgement) they take (because none can ever escape Our punishment).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

بل أظنَّ الذين يعملون المعاصي مِن شرك وغيره أن يعجزونا، فيفوتونا بأنفسهم فلا نقدر عليهم؟ بئس حكمهم الذي يحكمون به.
