The Holy Quran 29:32 — Surah Al-'Ankabut

Arabic text

قَالَ إِنَّ فِيهَا لُوطًا ۚ قَالُوا۟ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن فِيهَا ۖ لَنُنَجِّيَنَّهُۥ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱمْرَأَتَهُۥ كَانَتْ مِنَ ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ

Translation

He (Ibraheem عليه الصلاة والسلام) said, "(How can you destroy these people when) Loot is among them." They (the angels) replied, "We know better (well) who is present in the town. We shall definitely rescue (save) him and his family (from the punishment), except his wife. She will be among those left behind (to suffer in the punishment because she is one of the Kuffaar)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

قال إبراهيم للملائكة: إنَّ فيها لوطًا وليس من الظالمين، فقالت الملائكة له: نحن أعلم بمن فيها، لننجِّينَّه وأهله من الهلاك الذي سينزل بأهل قريته إلا امرأته كانت من الباقين الهالكين.
