The Holy Quran 28:77 — Surah Al-Qasas

Arabic text

وَٱبْتَغِ فِيمَآ ءَاتَىٰكَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلدَّارَ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَ ۖ وَلَا تَنسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ ٱلدُّنْيَا ۖ وَأَحْسِن كَمَآ أَحْسَنَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَيْكَ ۖ وَلَا تَبْغِ ٱلْفَسَادَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ

Translation

"Seek (to earn) the Home of the Aakhirah using the means (wealth and status) that Allaah has granted you (by using these means to please Allaah) and do not forget (to take) your portion of this world (as rewards to the Aakhirah by spending for Allaah's pleasure). Be good (towards others) just as Allaah has been good to you (by granting you so much wealth). And do not seek (to create) corruption (evil) on earth, for Allaah does not like those who create corruption." (evil)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

والتمس فيما آتاك الله من الأموال ثواب الدار الآخرة، بالعمل فيها بطاعة الله في الدنيا، ولا تترك حظك من الدنيا، بأن تتمتع فيها بالحلال دون إسراف، وأحسن إلى الناس بالصدقة، كما أحسن الله إليك بهذه الأموال الكثيرة، ولا تلتمس ما حرَّم الله عليك من البغي على قومك، إن الله لا يحب المفسدين، وسيجازيهم على سوء صنيعهم.
