The Holy Quran 27:50 — Surah An-Naml

Arabic text

وَمَكَرُوا۟ مَكْرًا وَمَكَرْنَا مَكْرًا وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ

Translation

They plotted a scheme (to murder Saalih عليه الصلاة والسلام and the Mu'mineen) while We planned a scheme (to destroy the Kuffaar and save the Mu'mineen) without their knowledge. (When mischief reaches such limits, destruction of the mischief makers soon follows.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ودبَّروا هذه الحيلة لإهلاك صالح وأهله مكرًا منهم، فنصرنا نبينا صالحًا عليه السلام، وأخذناهم بالعقوبة على غِرَّة، وهم لا يتوقعون كيدنا لهم جزاءً على كيدهم.
