The Holy Quran 27:43 — Surah An-Naml

Arabic text

وَصَدَّهَا مَا كَانَت تَّعْبُدُ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّهَا كَانَتْ مِن قَوْمٍ كَـٰفِرِينَ

Translation

(The above proved that she was an intelligent woman, but) What she worshipped instead of Allaah (her involvement in worshipping the sun) had prevented her (from worshipping Allaah). She (had grown accustomed to worshipping the sun because she) was from a nation of Kaafiroon (and had not received the message of Towheed earlier).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ومَنَعَها عن عبادة الله وحده ما كانت تعبده مِن دون الله تعالى، إنها كانت كافرة ونشأت بين قوم كافرين، واستمرت على دينهم، وإلا فلها من الذكاء والفطنة ما تعرف به الحق من الباطل، ولكن العقائد الباطلة تُذهب بصيرة القلب.
