The Holy Quran 27:41 — Surah An-Naml

Arabic text

قَالَ نَكِّرُوا۟ لَهَا عَرْشَهَا نَنظُرْ أَتَهْتَدِىٓ أَمْ تَكُونُ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ

Translation

He (Sulaymaan عليه الصلاة والسلام) said, "Disguise (properly) her throne for her so that we may see whether she is rightly guided (whether she is intelligent enough to recognise her throne) or from among those who are not guided aright." (In this manner, it may be ascertained whether she will be able to understand the message of Towheed or not.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

قال سليمان لمن عنده: غيِّروا سرير ملكها الذي تجلس عليه إلى حال تنكره إذا رأته; لنرى أتهتدي إلى معرفته أم تكون من الذين لا يهتدون؟
