The Holy Quran 27:16 — Surah An-Naml

Arabic text

وَوَرِثَ سُلَيْمَـٰنُ دَاوُۥدَ ۖ وَقَالَ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ عُلِّمْنَا مَنطِقَ ٱلطَّيْرِ وَأُوتِينَا مِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ ۖ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْفَضْلُ ٱلْمُبِينُ

Translation

Sulaymaan عليه الصلاة والسلام succeeded Dawood عليه الصلاة والسلام (as Nabi and king of the Bani Israa'eel) and he (once) said (to them), "O people! We (my father and I) have been taught the speech of the birds and have been granted everything (that is granted to the Ambiyaa عليهم الصلاة والسلام and to kings). This is certainly a manifest bounty (excellent blessing)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وورث سليمان أباه داود في النبوة والعلم والملك، وقال سليمان لقومه: يا أيها الناس عُلِّمنا وفُهِّمنا كلام الطير، وأُعطينا مِن كل شيء تدعو إليه الحاجة، إن هذا الذي أعطانا الله تعالى إياه لهو الفضل الواضح الذي يُمَيِّزنا على مَن سوانا.
