The Holy Quran 26:44 — Surah Ash-Shu'ara

Arabic text

فَأَلْقَوْا۟ حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ

Translation

So they threw their ropes and staffs saying, "By Fir'oun's honour! We shall certainly be the victors (because our ropes and staffs appear to be slithering snakes to the people)!"

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

فألقَوا حبالهم وعصيَّهم، وخُيِّل للناس أنها حيَّات تسعى، وأقسموا بعزة فرعون قائلين: إننا لنحن الغالبون.
