The Holy Quran 25:44 — Surah Al-Furqan

Arabic text

أَمْ تَحْسَبُ أَنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ يَسْمَعُونَ أَوْ يَعْقِلُونَ ۚ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا كَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ ۖ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا

Translation

Or do you think that most of them hear (with the intention of accepting) or understand (everything they are told) ? (This is not the case because) They are merely like animals, but even more astray. (Whereas animals still realise that they should avoid things that cause them harm, the Kuffaar plunge further into kufr and sin that will cause them the worst harm in both worlds.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

أم تظن أن أكثرهم يسمعون آيات الله سماع تدبر، أو يفهمون ما فيها؟ ما هم إلا كالبهائم في عدم الانتفاع بما يسمعونه، بل هم أضل طريقًا منها.
