The Holy Quran 24:45 — Surah An-Nur

Arabic text

وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَ كُلَّ دَآبَّةٍ مِّن مَّآءٍ ۖ فَمِنْهُم مَّن يَمْشِى عَلَىٰ بَطْنِهِۦ وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَمْشِى عَلَىٰ رِجْلَيْنِ وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَمْشِى عَلَىٰٓ أَرْبَعٍ ۚ يَخْلُقُ ٱللَّهُ مَا يَشَآءُ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Translation

Allaah created every creature (terrestrial and marine) from water. Of these, there are some who crawl on their bellies (such as snakes, snails, worms, etc). There are those that walk on two legs (such as human beings) and those that walk on four (such as cattle, cats, etc). Allaah creates what He wills (and experiences no difficulty at all in doing this). Allaah certainly has power over all things.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

والله تعالى خلق كل ما يدِب على الأرض مِن ماء، فالماء أصل خلقه، فمن هذه الدواب: مَن يمشي زحفًا على بطنه كالحيَّات ونحوها، ومنهم مَن يمشي على رجلين كالإنسان، ومنهم من يمشي على أربع كالبهائم ونحوها. والله سبحانه وتعالى يخلق ما يشاء، وهو قادر على كل شيء.
