The Holy Quran 24:29 — Surah An-Nur

Arabic text

لَّيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَن تَدْخُلُوا۟ بُيُوتًا غَيْرَ مَسْكُونَةٍ فِيهَا مَتَـٰعٌ لَّكُمْ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تُبْدُونَ وَمَا تَكْتُمُونَ

Translation

There is no harm (sin) if (without permission) you enter uninhabited houses that contain benefit for you (public places or other places that you are allowed to use). Allaah knows what you make public (reveal) and what you keep (conceal) secret (you should therefore watch closely what you do because nothing is hidden from Him).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

لكن لا حرج عليكم أن تدخلوا بغير استئذان بيوتًا ليست مخصصة لسكنى أناس بذاتهم، بل ليتمتع بها مَن يحتاج إليها كالبيوت المُعَدَّة صدقة لابن السبيل في طرق المسافرين وغيرها من المرافق، ففيها منافع وحاجة لمن يدخلها، وفي الاستئذان مشقة. والله يعلم أحوالكم الظاهرة والخفية.
