The Holy Quran 24:12 — Surah An-Nur

Arabic text

لَّوْلَآ إِذْ سَمِعْتُمُوهُ ظَنَّ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتُ بِأَنفُسِهِمْ خَيْرًا وَقَالُوا۟ هَـٰذَآ إِفْكٌ مُّبِينٌ

Translation

(Instead of listening to the accusation, thereby giving courage to the slanderers) Why did the Mu'mineen men and women not think favourably of themselves (of those who were accused) when they heard about it, and say (about the accusation), "This is clear defamation!"?

هلا ظن المؤمنون والمؤمنات بعضهم ببعض خيرًا عند سماعهم ذلك الإفك، وهو السلامة مما رموا به، وقالوا: هذا كذب ظاهر على عائشة رضي الله عنها.
