The Holy Quran 23:71 — Surah Al-Mu'minun

Arabic text

وَلَوِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلْحَقُّ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُ وَٱلْأَرْضُ وَمَن فِيهِنَّ ۚ بَلْ أَتَيْنَـٰهُم بِذِكْرِهِمْ فَهُمْ عَن ذِكْرِهِم مُّعْرِضُونَ

Translation

If the truth (the true Deen) had to conform (suited) with their whims (wishes), (it would make Allaah so angry that) the heavens, earth and all within the two would be corrupted (destroyed by His punishment). However, We have brought their advice (the Qur'aan) to them but they ignore the advice given to them.

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ولو شرع الله لهم ما يوافق أهواءهم لفسدت السموات والأرض ومَن فيهن، بل أتيناهم بما فيه عزهم وشرفهم، وهو القرآن، فهم عنه معرضون.
