The Holy Quran 23:117 — Surah Al-Mu'minun

Arabic text

وَمَن يَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ لَا بُرْهَـٰنَ لَهُۥ بِهِۦ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفْلِحُ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ

Translation

He who calls on (worships) another Ilaah with Allaah has no proof for it (nothing can justify such a practice). His reckoning is with Allaah (Allaah will judge his behaviour). The fact of the matter is that (after Allaah's judgement) the Kaafiroon will not succeed (they will suffer eternally in Jahannam).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ومن يعبد مع الله الواحد إلهًا آخر، لا حجة له على استحقاقه العبادة، فإنما جزاؤه على عمله السيِّئ عند ربه في الآخرة. إنه لا فلاح ولا نجاة للكافرين يوم القيامة.
