The Holy Quran 21:7 — Surah Al-Anbya

Arabic text

وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًا نُّوحِىٓ إِلَيْهِمْ ۖ فَسْـَٔلُوٓا۟ أَهْلَ ٱلذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

Translation

Before you (O Rasulullaah ﷺ) We have sent (as Ambiyaa عليهم الصلاة والسلام) only men (not angels) to whom We have sent revelation, so ask those who have knowledge (of the previous scriptures) if you do not possess any knowledge (of the subject).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وما أرسلنا قبلك - أيها الرسول - إلا رجالا من البشر نوحي إليهم، ولم نرسل ملائكة، فاسألوا - يا كفار «مكة» - أهل العلم بالكتب المنزلة السابقة، إن كنتم تجهلون ذلك.
