The Holy Quran 21:11 — Surah Al-Anbya

Arabic text

وَكَمْ قَصَمْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ كَانَتْ ظَالِمَةً وَأَنشَأْنَا بَعْدَهَا قَوْمًا ءَاخَرِينَ

Translation

How many were the oppressive towns (towns of sinful people) that We annihilated (because of their kufr and sin) and We then created another nation after them. (Therefore, no nation should think that they are indispensable because We can destroy them in the same manner and create others to replace them.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وكثير من القرى كان أهلها ظالمين بكفرهم بما جاءتهم به رسلهم، فأهلكناهم بعذاب أبادهم جميعًا، وأوجدنا بعدهم قومًا آخرين سواهم.
