The Holy Quran 20:116 — Surah Taha

Arabic text

وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِـَٔادَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓا۟ إِلَّآ إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰ

Translation

(Do not forget the time) When We told the angels, “Prostrate before Aadam," so they all prostrated, except Iblees. He refused (to prostrate).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

واذكر - أيها الرسول - إذ قلنا للملائكة: اسجدوا لآدم سجود تحية وإكرام، فأطاعوا، وسجدوا، لكن إبليس امتنع من السجود.
