The Holy Quran 19:7 — Surah Maryam

Arabic text

يَـٰزَكَرِيَّآ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَـٰمٍ ٱسْمُهُۥ يَحْيَىٰ لَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُۥ مِن قَبْلُ سَمِيًّا

Translation

(In reply to his du'aa, Allaah sent an angel to him who said,) "O Zakariyya, We convey to you the good news of (the birth of) a son called Yahya. We have never named anyone like this before him (his name and his character were unique)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

يا زكريا إنَّا نبشرك بإجابة دعائك، قد وهبنا لك غلامًا اسمه يحيى، لم نُسَمِّ أحدًا قبله بهذا الاسم.
