The Holy Quran 19:37 — Surah Maryam

Arabic text

فَٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ مِنۢ بَيْنِهِمْ ۖ فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن مَّشْهَدِ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ

Translation

However (despite this clear statement of Isa عليه الصلاة والسلام) the groups (among the Christians) began disputing (denied, rejected each other) among themselves (some saying that Isa is Allaah and others saying that he is one of three gods). Woe be to the Kuffaar on the occasion of a momentous (mighty) day (the Day of Qiyaamah when they will be punished for their corrupted beliefs).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

فاختلفت الفِرَق من أهل الكتاب فيما بينهم في أمر عيسى عليه السلام، فمنهم غال فيه وهم النصارى، فمنهم من قال: هو الله، ومنهم من قال: هو ابن الله، ومنهم من قال: ثالث ثلاثة - تعالى الله عما يقولون -، ومنهم جافٍ عنه وهم اليهود، قالوا: ساحر، وقالوا: ابن يوسف النجار، فهلاك للذين كفروا مِن شهود يوم عظيم الهول، وهو يوم القيامة.
