The Holy Quran 18:80 — Surah Al-Kahf

Arabic text

وَأَمَّا ٱلْغُلَـٰمُ فَكَانَ أَبَوَاهُ مُؤْمِنَيْنِ فَخَشِينَآ أَن يُرْهِقَهُمَا طُغْيَـٰنًا وَكُفْرًا

Translation

"As for the boy (whom I killed), both his parents were Mu'mineen and we feared that he would (become a Kaafir when he grew up and) embroil (involve/subdue) them (his parents) in rebellion (disobedience to Allaah's commands) and kufr."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وأما الغلام الذي قتلته فكان في علم الله كافرًا، وكان أبوه وأمه مؤمِنَيْن، فخشينا لو بقي الغلام حيًا لَحمل والديه على الكفر والطغيان؛ لأجل محبتهما إياه أو للحاجة إليه.
