The Holy Quran 17:26 — Surah Al-Isra

Arabic text

وَءَاتِ ذَا ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ حَقَّهُۥ وَٱلْمِسْكِينَ وَٱبْنَ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَلَا تُبَذِّرْ تَبْذِيرًا

Translation

Give the relative his right (maintain good relations with relatives), as well as (give their rights to) the poor and the traveller (assist them in their need). And do not be extravagant (do not spend in avenues that are wasteful).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وأحسِنْ إلى كل مَن له صلة قرابة بك، وأعطه حقه من الإحسان والبر، وأعط المسكين الذي لا يملك ما يكفيه ويسد حاجته، والمسافر المنقطع عن أهله وماله، ولا تنفق مالك في غير طاعة الله، أو على وجه الإسراف والتبذير.
