The Holy Quran 16:36 — Surah An-Nahl

Arabic text

وَلَقَدْ بَعَثْنَا فِى كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ رَّسُولًا أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱجْتَنِبُوا۟ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتَ ۖ فَمِنْهُم مَّنْ هَدَى ٱللَّهُ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ حَقَّتْ عَلَيْهِ ٱلضَّلَـٰلَةُ ۚ فَسِيرُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

Translation

Indeed We have sent a Rasool among every nation (who told them) that "Worship Allaah and shun the Shaytaan (idols and false gods)." (From among the people to whom the Rusul came,) There were those of them whom Allaah had guided and those for whom deviation had been decreed (who were destined to die as Kuffaar). So travel in the land and see what was the (disastrous) end of those who (totally) rejected (the Rusul).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

ولقد بعثنا في كل أمة سبقَتْ رسولا آمرًا لهم بعبادة الله وطاعته وحده وتَرْكِ عبادة غيره من الشياطين والأوثان والأموات وغير ذلك مما يتخذ من دون الله وليًا، فكان منهم مَن هدى الله، فاتبع المرسلين، ومنهم المعاند الذي اتبع سبيل الغيِّ، فوجبت عليه الضلالة، فلم يوفقه الله.
