The Holy Quran 14:1 — Surah Ibrahim

Arabic text

الٓر ۚ كِتَـٰبٌ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ إِلَيْكَ لِتُخْرِجَ ٱلنَّاسَ مِنَ ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِ إِلَى ٱلنُّورِ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ

Translation

Alif Laam Raa (Allaah Alone knows the meaning of these letters). This is a Book (Quraan) that We revealed to you (O Muhammad ﷺ) to remove people from a multitude of darkness (kufr, Shirk, sin), taking them towards light (Imaan/Islaam), by the command of your Rabb (and leading them) to the path of The Mighty, The One Worthy of praise (the path of Islaam).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

(الر) سبق الكلام على الحروف المقطَّعة في أول سورة البقرة. هذا القرآن كتاب أوحيناه إليك -أيها الرسول- لتُخرج به البشر من الضلال والغيِّ إلى الهدى والنور -بإذن ربهم وتوفيقه إياهم- إلى الإسلام الذي هو طريق الله الغالب المحمود في كل حال، الله الذي له ما في السموات وما في الأرض، خلقًا وملكًا وتصرُّفًا، فهو الذي يجب أن تكون العبادة له وحده.
