The Holy Quran 13:38 — Surah Ar-Ra'd

Arabic text

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلًا مِّن قَبْلِكَ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا وَذُرِّيَّةً ۚ وَمَا كَانَ لِرَسُولٍ أَن يَأْتِىَ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ ٱللَّهِ ۗ لِكُلِّ أَجَلٍ كِتَابٌ

Translation

Verily, We have sent many Rusul before you and We granted them wives and progenies (they were not angels but human beings with families). A Rasool is not capable of producing a sign (miracle) without Allaah's order. Every period (of time) had written commands (which suited the people of the time. Therefore, people should not object to the Shari'ah of Rasulullaah ﷺ merely because it is different from those of the previous Ambiyaa عليه الصلاة والسلام).

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وإذا قالوا: ما لك -أيها الرسول- تتزوج النساء؟ فلقد بعثنا قبلك رسلا من البشر وجعلنا لهم أزواجًا وذرية، وإذا قالوا: لو كان رسولا لأتى بما طلبنا من المعجزات، فليس في وُسْع رسولٍ أن يأتي بمعجزةٍ أرادها قومه إلا بإذن الله. لكل أمر قضاه الله كتاب وأجل قد كتبه الله عنده، لا يتقدم ولا يتأخر.
