The Holy Quran 12:86 — Surah Yusuf

Arabic text

قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أَشْكُوا۟ بَثِّى وَحُزْنِىٓ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَأَعْلَمُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

Translation

He replied, “I complain of my sorrow and my grief only to Allaah (because you would not understand). (I have hope that they will be returned to me because) I have been granted such knowledge from Allaah that you do not know about." (Here Yaqoob عليه الصلاة والسلام referred to his deep knowledge of Allaah's mercy, his knowledge of the dream that Yusuf عليه الصلاة والسلام saw as a child and perhaps some inspiration that Allaah had given him.)

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

قال يعقوب مجيبًا لهم: لا أظهر همِّي وحزني إلا لله وحده، فهو كاشف الضرِّ والبلاء، وأعلم من رحمة الله وفرجه ما لا تعلمونه.
