The Holy Quran 12:62 — Surah Yusuf

Arabic text

وَقَالَ لِفِتْيَـٰنِهِ ٱجْعَلُوا۟ بِضَـٰعَتَهُمْ فِى رِحَالِهِمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَعْرِفُونَهَآ إِذَا ٱنقَلَبُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ

Translation

(To ensure that they would not fail to return a second time because of lack of money) He (Yusuf عليه الصلاة والسلام) said to his attendants, "Place their funds (with which they paid for the food) back into their carriages (bags) so that they recognise it when they return to their families and so that they may come back (happily)."

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وقال يوسف لغلمانه: اجعلوا ثمن ما أخذوه في أمتعتهم سرًا; رجاء أن يعرفوه إذا رجعوا إلى أهلهم، ويقدِّروا إكرامنا لهم؛ ليرجعوا طمعًا في عطائنا.
