The Holy Quran 12:59 — Surah Yusuf

Arabic text

وَلَمَّا جَهَّزَهُم بِجَهَازِهِمْ قَالَ ٱئْتُونِى بِأَخٍ لَّكُم مِّنْ أَبِيكُمْ ۚ أَلَا تَرَوْنَ أَنِّىٓ أُوفِى ٱلْكَيْلَ وَأَنَا۠ خَيْرُ ٱلْمُنزِلِينَ

Translation

(Yusuf عليه الصلاة والسلام really wanted to meet his brother Bin Yaameen, so) When he prepared their provisions (after entertaining them and giving them what they needed) he said, "Bring your brother (Bin Yaameen) to me from your father (when you return for more provisions so that I may be sure that the extra load of provisions that you are taking is really meant for him). Do you not see that I grant measure in full and that I am the best of hosts?"

Tafsir (excerpt) — التفسير الميسر

وقد أمر يوسف بإكرامهم وحسن ضيافتهم، ثم أعطاهم من الطعام ما طلبوا، وكانوا قد أخبروه أن لهم أخًا من أبيهم لم يُحضروه معهم -يريدون شقيقه- فقال: ائتوني بأخيكم من أبيكم، ألم تروا أني أوفيتُ لكم الكيل وأكرمتكم في الضيافة، وأنا خير المضيفين لكم؟
